Bats, buildings and the law

Bats are increasingly roosting in buildings as natural sites in tree holes and caves become scarcer or more disturbed. The Government of Jersey advises that all buildings are potential roost sites — particularly walls, eaves and roofs — so anyone working regularly in those areas should know what signs to look for and how to work within the law. That includes surveyors, architects, plumbers, roofers, insulators and pest technicians.
